The three meetings
16 New Brunswick artists arrived for the first “book meeting” at Hooper’s Studio in Hampton, September 2007. No-one had preconceived ideas; they were there simply to explore the concept of books..

The response
Close to two thousand viewers came specifically to see Beyond Words. Even more noticeable for the Gallery staff was the number of return visits to this particular exhibit.

The beginning
The seeds of Beyond Words were sown over eighteen years ago when George Fry was Director of the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design.
